PAKISTAN INSTITUTE OF REHABILITATION AND MEDICAL SCIENCES (PIRMS)

Institute campus is a “purpose built state of the art” loaded with all modern equipment and training facilities fulfilling all the requirements which are necessary to educate and train the upcoming generation of medical professionals. The building of institute spreads over 13,500 square feet and is acquired for medical Education to provide facilities in various fields of physiotherapy both basic and clinical guidance in one campus. PIRMS believes in instructional strategy, learning is best achieved by self-study, understanding of information derived from lectures, tutorials, discussions, practical work in the laboratories, field work in the community and the library. Students are required to apply their knowledge to solve the problems. Institute is fully developed teaching institute, having well qualified and highly skilled teaching staff. The institute provides best training/teaching facilities like physiotherapy Laboratories and high class Audio/ Visual aids to impart training to its students according to International standards. The institute is attached with Jamal Noor Hospital and Health Vision Hospital required for training high class physiotherapy students.

General Educational Objectives

The general objectives of physiotherapy curriculum is to prepare a caring general purpose, community oriented Doctor who will be competent to deal with common health problems of the people in scientifically sound, cost effective manner using appropriate technology and a holistic approach. He/ She should be able to assume leadership in health care team, function and communicate effectively as a manner in accordance with the code of medical ethics. He/ She should be a continuous self-learner who is able to pursue training in the speciality of his/ her choice. In accordance to achieve the general objective, the institution aim to the acquisition of the following specific learning outcomes in the cognitive, effective and psychomotor domains.
